Welcome to our school website! Do you need information about the Arctic and Antarctica for your school work? You can probably find it here! If not, we will answer your questions about anything related to polar research or the polar regions, send brochures and fact sheets – and we welcome visiting school classes. For questions or to order material, send us an e-mail.
- The centre ICE – Ice, Climate & Ecosystems. The Centre concentrates on research about ecosystems, sea ice and the Antarctic ice shelf Fimbulisen. At present, the Fimbul Ice Shelf Expedition is the only project with its own school website.
- The Arctic System is a website about natural environments and ecosystems in the Arctic. Order individual booklets or sets for the entire class, in Norwegian or English, free of charge.
- polarhistorie.no presents Norwegian polar history online (in Norwegian only).

- The Norwegian Polar Institute Library contains about 13 000 books, mainly specialist literature on polar regions.
- The Image Archive allows you to search among over 35 000 images from polar regions.
- Ask an expert – do you have a question about something «polar» in connection with your school work? – and get answers from one of our polar researchers
- Information materials and publications – fact sheets, booklets, posters, polar handbooks, report series and scientific journals about the Arctic and Antarctic regions
- Polaria – the Arctic experience centre in Tromsø, has a website for schools (only in Norwegian)
- The Science Centre of Northern Norway offers learning experiences for students, teachers and others involved in education – and collaborates with the Norwegian Polar Institute in developing exhibitions
- The exhibit «Snowhow. What polar heroes learned from Inuits, Saami, and Arctic seafarers» (in Norwegian only)
