Developed by Per Inge Myhre, Research Scientist and Geologist at the Norwegian Polar Institute, the new map solution makes all of the Institute's geological maps of Svalbard readily available, right at the palm of your hands.

You can now bring the entire map in your pocket when heading out into the field. It's free to download, and allows you to explore the fascinating geology on Svalbard, Myhre says.

The map is fully functional even without mobile service, as long as GPS is enabled. The data are the same as those available at the Polar Institute's website, but with this, Myhre aims to make the maps more accessible during fieldwork.

The data are identical, but the mobile format offers a better look, Myhre says, adding that all user feedback will be highly appreciated.
