Stratospheric climatology using UV-visible spectroscopy (SCUVS-3)
SCUVS-3 is an EU-project involving scientists from many different countries in Europe. The EU contract was extended until 30. June 1998. The objectives are: Investigation of the long-term change of stratospheric constituents and establishment of a data base to be used for correction of possible rifts of satellite instruments. The strategy is to continue existing long-term measurements form a network of European ground-based UV-visible spectrometers at high and lower latitudes by means of collection and analysis of data and to provide an independent calibration of satellite sensors of the atmosphere. NILU contributes to the project with measurements of ozone and NO2 in Ny-Ålesund.
