Longyearbyen and surroundings
The map is produced in partnership with the Governor of Svalbard and is in scale 1: 50 000. The map covers the areas from Colesbukta in the west to Vindodden in the east and is printed on Tyvek, a material that is resistant to moisture and also is tear proof.
The construction of the map- and altitude data is based on aerial photos from 2009 and 2011. The contour interval is 20 meters and the shadow modelling of the terrain gives the users a good understanding of the formation of the terrain.
Areas of particular interest as a destination are also marked on the map. This applies viewpoints, monuments and other attractions. These are further described in the map's info panel.
